Miss India France 2010- Casting Open

The committee of Miss India France is inviting candidate for the beauty contest Miss India France 2010 and Mister India France 2010.

The candidature is open to all men and women, of Indian origin, between 18 and 25 years, living in France. The elected candidates will be representatives of Indian culture during one year for any or all official events of the Miss India France committee. Last date for submitting the candidature is March 20th, 2010.

Paris Young Talent Contest 2010

If you are young, talented and living in Paris, then this contest is for you. Yes, yes, I know, age is a state of mind but some times we must live by the book ! Ciné artist Irène Jacob is the 'marraine' for the contest for Paris Young Talent Contest 2010.

 

3 artists in 3 categories (Visual arts, live shows-spectacle vivant and music) are recognized by Paris Municipality each year. The contest is open to artists from 13- 30 years, amateurs or professionals, practising all styles of music (pop, rock, jazz, rap, French songs, electronic music) and live shows (theatre, dances, miming, café-théâtre, circus, street-arts, humour, multi-disciplinary shows). Last date for submission of candidature is March 15th, 2010.

Paris Biodiversity Plan

Year 2010 is the Global Year of the Bio-diversity. This year, the city of Paris engages itself once again to maintain its flora and fauna. Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoë and Fabienne Giboudeaux, adjoint in charge of green spaces gave the details of Paris bio-diversity plan during a press conference on February 22nd. 

 

Paris will invite its citizens and scientific professionals to participate and to discover the different facets of its bio-diversity through exhibitions, workshops, conferences and guided visits that will be proposed in the parks and gardens throughout the year. The city will also bring out a book on the bio-diversity in Paris in Autumn 2010. 

 

The 4 sites that have been proposed for the public-professionals encounter are - the canals of River Seine and around (19th), Woodlands of Vincennes/ Bercy-Charenton (12th), the cemetry Père-Lachaise and around (11th and 20th), the barges of River Seine in the Boulogne Woodlands (16th).

Anil Abhimanyu Sharma in Regal

Indian gourmet Anil Abhimanyu Sharma, who is known in and around Paris for his Indian cooking workshops, appears in the French food and wine bimonthly magazine 'Regal' February- March 2010 issue. For those who have not yet been a part of his workshops, here's an excellent opportunity to learn his recipes as they were.

Free Cooking Lessons from Chefs in Paris Markets

As many as 30 days of free lessons in cooking are offered throughout 2010 in Parisian markets by FFCA- Fédération Française de Cuisine Amateur (French Federation of Amateur Cuisine).

 

The courses are organised by FFCA and given by their chef or 'teacher' in local Paris markets in different districts. Get details of the schedule in the market near you.

From January 31st, 2010 onwards, all labels on fruits and vegetables that announce the price will have the information regarding the origin of the product in the same characters and size as that of the price.

Italian fashion connection between India and Paris

Hand-bag designer Corto Moltedo is in India from February 19th, 2010 onwards for a trunk show in Mumbai and Delhi.

 

Corto was born to parents Italian Laura and Vittorio Moltedo who were the founders of the luxury lable Bottega Veneta that makes signature leather goods, including handbags, luggage and leather wallets. The brand was sold to Gucci group in 2001. Corto grew up in New York but maintained his family tradition and know-how of leather goods. He started his lable 'Corto Moltedo' in 2004. His signature line of hand-bags, clutches, purses are singularly crafted in his workshop in Florence. With attention to detail, each bag is airbrushed with the customer's name to add to the touch of exclusivity. His signature boutique is a stone's throw from the Louvre Museum.
