Champs-Elysées gets a sister avenue
The most beautiful avenue in the world, as per the French claims, is getting itself a sister avenue in nowhere other than the Chinese metropole Shanghai !
As per an accord that is to be signed on April 16th between French and Chinese officials, Avenue Nanjing lu, one of the busiest commercial street of Shanghai will become sister avenue of the Champs Elysées, as per a report in Le Parisien.
Meant to further economic co-operation between the two avenues, this may translate to having Chinese boutiques/ restaurants on the Champs Elysées and French boutiques on the Avenue Nanjing Lu in near future.
Readers may already be familiar with the concept of 'sister cities' that is prevalent in more than 2,300 cities of 132 countries- sharing the principals of economic development, humanitarian aid, development of education, youth, arts and culture among two or more cities located in different countries.
