Rahman's Paris Concert Cancelled


Renowned Indian artist A R Rahman's Paris concert scheduled for 17th July, 2010 at Paris Porte e Versailles has been cancelled for unspecified reasons. Paris concert was the first in the city for Rahman and was a part of his multiple cities world 'Jai Ho' tour. Currently no further date has been communicated for holding the concert as per a press release issued by De Concert, an agency hired by the French organisers of the concert for managing press relations and finding the sponsors.

IIP does not have any other official communication from the organisers of the concert Raaga France and Bazz & Mouss Partners, based in Paris. As per De Concert, no official version for cancellation is available. As per them, the cancellation might be due to technical problems arising out of logistics. Rapport Global of Mumbai was the world tour organiser of the artist.

For the world tour held in several cities already before being cancelled in Paris, several international known technicians and back-stage professionals collaborated with the artist for this exceptional show in the wake of his Oscar winning sound track of Danny Boyle's film 'SlumDog Millionnaire' and its hit single 'Jai Ho'.
