Till a few years back, the concept of vegetarianism in Paris was limited to salads and shallow fried vegetables served as an accompaniment to main dishes. However, the gastronomic scenario of Paris is opening up as organic and health food awareness is increasing. Deli style snack bars offering organic and vegetarian food and 'main stream' vegetarian restaurants are growing by the number. This certainly augurs well for the gourmet gourmands.
